Miss Destiny
Director/Owner
Early childhood has always been a calling of mine. I majored in Early Child Development with an emphasis on positive guidance in college. I went on to attend multiple courses and seminars on play- based learning and cultural studies. And most recently, infant and toddler mental health studies.
My goal is to foster a sense of connection and community within our program. They say it takes a village, and I am over joyed with the “village” we’ve created here at Plumas Lake Community Preschool.
Our Educational Programs
Montessori Inspired. Nature-Based Curriculum. Whole Child Learning.
Preschool
8:00AM-11:30AMAges 2-3, children learn in a carefully prepared classroom that will allow them to explore their interests and express themselves. Preschool lays the foundation for all future learning so we are sure to cover physical development, social-emotional, cognitive, early literacy and mathematics through play.
Transitional Kindergarten (TK)
12:00PM-3:30PMChildren will begin to learn classroom etiquette, develop independence, and build confidence. We will continue to support all areas of development while introducing critical thinking, managing friendships, and self-regulation. Perfect for kids preparing for a full day at kindergarten.
Infant Development Class
Infant (0-24 month) Babies will learn in a caring, responsive environment. Teachers will meet each child where they are developmentally and create activities to support them. This is a critical age for early literacy, speech development and brain growth. Parents will be informed of milestones and how to support their babies development to the fullest, as well as education on physical development, healthy sleeping habits and nutrition for their little ones.

Testimonials
Hear From Our Families
“Plumas Lake Community Preschool is a top notch preschool. I saw a positive change in my daughter immediately when she started. She learned valuable life skills daily and gained so much confidence. Mrs. Destiny and Miss Natalie are awesome. You can tell they love what they’re doing! Thanks for giving our Colbie girl so much love.”
Marcy Taylor
“Mrs. Destiny has created an amazing program. My son started with a speech delay and she took the time to speak to his speech therapist and learn how she can better assist his needs. They all go above and beyond to help both of my kids out. My boys adore Mrs Destiny, Mrs Jen, and Mrs Natalie, and my husband and I really appreciate all of the feedback and advice that we have recieved to help our boys transition through these stages of life.”
